Operations built with and for the movement.

Our staff come from organizing, social justice, and nonprofit backgrounds, and the systems we use to administer back office services are built in collaboration with and nuanced for the movement organizations that we serve.

An alternative approach to developing operations systems in siloes, movement operations consolidates back office services to create more space for a holistic, movement-centered approach to financial and legal services, cost allocation, human resources and payroll/benefits management, grants and contract management, technology infrastructure and support, and other core services.

Our Ecosystem

In our ecosystem, we know 501c3s are not the entire movement. Our multi-entity approach to infrastructure building allows us to ask questions, experiment, and pivot accordingly when it comes to leveraging different entities to support movements.

Some benefits and impacts on our current partners

Expanded Advocacy

Our multi-entity structure allows movements to use different organizations to achieve their base-building, legislative, and political goals. Organizations join a community of values-aligned political partners committed to building working-class power.

Consolidated Resources

When you become a part of the network, your organization gains access to higher quality services. For example, small teams receive a robust benefits package that would be cost-prohibitive to many smaller organizations without the struggle of a single, overworked administrative staff person.

Personnel Support

Resilient Strategies has a caring and people-centered human resources department that offers a robust benefits package to all staff in the network – a feat that supports sustainability leading to staff retention and keeping people in the movement.

Coaching

Through Resilient Strategies, Network Partners gain access to the expertise of coaches who specialize in finance and budgets, fundraising and development, staff and organizational development, human resources, and more.

Technology

It’s hard to both compete with tech industry salaries and find tech-savvy staff who are values-aligned. This often results in organizations over-relying on a single person to handle tech and can limit them from developing more sophisticated services to meet their needs. RS has an 8-person tech team and is ultimately safer for organizations.

Digital Security & Efficiency

Today’s internet & cellphone-centric world makes digital security an integral part of any organizational strategy. At Resilient Strategies the security of both employees and organizations is considered throughout all our departments rather than confined to tech.

Social justice movements have been growing.

From the anti-globalization protests in Seattle against the World Trade Organization in 1999 to formations like Occupy Wall Street and Black Lives Matter that have more recently made national impacts toward economic and racial equity, social justice movements have been growing, winning, and shifting our culture in the past few decades. However, years of under- and disinvestment- have left an impact, creating conditions that lead to burnout, duplication, and isolation as we struggle to scale our work.

Resilient Strategies was founded in 2019 with the commitment to create collective movement infrastructure and support organizations to advance their vision and live into their purpose. Founded by grounded movement practitioners, we build on social justice traditions stemming back 50 years. Our aim in founding the RS network was to build infrastructure for our organizations to access capacity normally reserved for larger institutions. This way, we harness our collective strength and leverage different entities to achieve a broader social justice mission.
